Workers Compensation/Insurance Fraud Investigations

Evidence shows that insurance fraud is increasing.  Fraudulent claims costs insurers billions of dollars each year.  In fact, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation statistics, the total cost of insurance fraud (non-health insurance) is estimated to be more than $40 billion per year. That means insurance fraud costs the average U.S. family between $400 and $700 per year in the form of increased premiums.  At Eagle Six Group, our professional investigators will conduct a thorough and discreet investigation in order to get you the evidence you need to go to court and prove your case if your company is the victim of insurance fraud.

One of the most common forms of insurance fraud is the exaggeration of injuries. Because many injuries can be exceptionally difficult to quantify (for example, psychological injuries or physical injuries such as whiplash), Eagle Six Group investigators will seek to establish ThinkstockPhotos-176853663that what the claimant claims is true.  If the claimant states that they can no longer work because of their injuries and is going to a job everyday, we will get you the evidence you need.   We also want to make sure that there are no obvious discrepancies in the symptoms claimed such as claiming a back injuy yet continuing to play sports on the weekends.  We will use surveillance and video evidence in such circumstances to verify the claim.

Another type of insurance fraud is that of claiming on an insurance policy for injuries sustained before the policy came into effect. For example, in a road accident, a person may claim to have sustained a debilitating back injury. On investigation, however, it transpires that the injury had been sustained in an incident some months or even years before. Eagle Six Group investigators will utilize our expertise and investigative tools to eliminate this possibility, as well as searching for evidence of previous claims or accidents.

There is also insurance fraud involving property, for example when a person with valuable insured assets (i.e. property) deliberately destroys them, often through arson, for the insurance money. Also some people insure high value items (i.e. artwork, jewerly, etc.) then falsely claim the property was stolen and file an insurance claim, all the while keeping the items for themsleves.  At Eagle Six Group we will work diligently to uncover the truth on every investigation.
